Proud New Owner, Return Warraty Cards or Not?
« on: September 17, 2003, 05:36:50 PM »
Hi Ya'll,
I've been gone for a while but have just bought my first Encore Pistol.  I got a .243, 15" for my first barrel.  Shot 3, 1" 3 shot groups out of the box at 50 yards.  enjoying it so far.  Hoping for the same at 100 yards after mounting the 2-7x32 T/C scope.  Anyway I have 3 Questions.  First, what stregth Lock Tite do I use to mount the scope?  Second, what is the very small allen wrench that came with the frame for?  And third, what do you guys think about returning warranty cards?  I am a little leary to do so for the fact that it is just an other way to track you and your guns.  Am I making any sence or being paranoid?  Thanks, Bruce

1, You want a removable type. I use the Devcon threadlocker myself but have used the red locktite in the past. 2, The small allen wrench is to adjust the trigger. Turn the frame upside down and look at the bottom of the trigger. There is an allen screw that will set sear engagement. Be careful and dont make it too touchy. 3, Why send warenty cards for a product that is guranteed for life no matter who owns it? It just gives them, and everyone they give it to, marketing info to use for sending you crap you probably don't want. Hope this helps,   KN

Maybe I'm forgetful or something has changed, but I don't think the Encore has an adjustment for sear engagement.  The Allen wrench is for setting the screw in the rear of the trigger guard to limit over travel, as I recall.

Yep it limits overtravel, turn it too far and it won't kaboom!  Leave it alone unless it already won't go kaboom.
