Hard to open Encore pistol

My Encore pistol is hard to open. I have to pull on the lever pretty hard to open gun is this normal?What can I do to ease things up?

There could be something wrong with the barrel or the frame or the loads you're shooting could be too hot.  With some barrels, even commercially loaded ammo is to hot.
