AK question

I just bought a romanian wasr-10 ak.  The gun has a tapco trigger and piston.  The rifle looks great, no rust or anything.  When I let the bolt carrier down gently the action hangs.  Upon close inspection I noticed that the bolt is rubbing the hammer as it goes by putting the gas rod in a bind as it goes into the gas tube. Also it extractor seams to have a problem riding over the rim of the case. The weapon fires fine and the action closes fine if let go fast.  Is this a problem or normal?  What can I do to fix it?  Thanks in advance for your input.

I always let mine slam forward, It never seems to work right if I don't. 8)

I bought a Wasr recently and mine does the same thing. But Ive put 200 rounds through it so far and aint had the first problem yet. Really like the rifle.

Don't ride the bolt when chambering a round. It is designed to feed under full spring power. Nothing wrong with your Wasr. I suggest you get a video or book on it's operation and care.
