Hornady Great Plains Conicals

Any of you guys have any experience with the Hornady GP 385 grain hollow point conicals??? Interested in loads etc.

I tried them, and had good groups at 100 grains Cleanshot in a Knight BK92, but I could achieve the same groups with a home cast 370 grain maxiball.  At the price of storebought vs. home cast, I opted for the home cast.  In terms of ballistic performance, both went completely through our Virginia whitetails.

I've had excellent luck with the 425 HP/HB in my .54, with a 1:48, infact it's the most accurate load I found using 80 grains of FFFG below a pinch of hornet's nesting, in my inexpensive Traditions Hawkins. RR

Thanks guys. I have used the TC 370 grain Maxi-balls and they shoot fine but on 3 lung hit deer I got no expansion at all and had major tracking task on all. Thinking of maxi-hunters but they say maxi hunters dont fly well thats why I am condisering the hornady great plains or buffalo conicals.

Any other help is appreciated.

The Hornady Great Plains bullet and the near identical Buffalo Bullet are all I've ever used in my .50s. I use 100 grains equivalent of Pyrodex and get good accuracy and excellent performance on deer.

My .50 TC 1 in 48 Renegade hates the Hornady bullet.  Loves the 385 Buffalo Bullet.  I shoot 90gr of Pyro RS, no wad.  I chronoed the Buff/Bull from a clean gun.  Five consecutive shots, no cleaning, 1295,1341,1350,1389,1420,1418 fps.  Accuracy is 2" groups at 75yds
with TC peep.  Benefit if you can.

This is my first post here so hello everyone.
I've been using the 460 gr GPB for a year now. Shot two deer this season with them and love them. They group at 2" or under at 100 yards with 90 grains of T7 in a 1:28 bbl.

They preformed just like you expect. Clean hole all the way through. The light little inline I use them in kicks like a mule but that's a small consideration!
