"40grains was listed as maximum. I have a 26" barrel on my Encore."
I had no access to any data for the 36 gr. when I first loaded mine so I used data for a slightly heavier bullet and added a bit. I worked up to the charge I settled on, no pressure signs at all, until I got a speed I thought was rational for that bullet in a 22-250, that's why I asked about your charge.
For such light bullets, Barne's Grenades are fairly long. There is no evidence of being over stabalized, they shoot good for me.
I would NEVER suggest anyone else use what is safe in MY rifle without a LOT of testing, measuring and carefull pressure acessment as they go.
