Good morning everyone.... its white outside and the coffee inside is nice and hot.

You all have a great day.

Just read the paper and discovered a long time friend had passed away on Weds from cancer. News Story Link  Susan Christofferson will be missed by many here in the Flathead Valley.  I have to agree with everything the paper had to say about her.  We did not see eye to eye on politics and a few other issues, but Susan always fought for childrens rights, and the protection of children at all cost.

'mornin boys.

I didn't make it to the range yesterday... naturally it was sunny and almost made 70 degrees.  Figured I'd go this weekend.  Big mistake!   :(  The forcast is cold and rain, very heavy rain, for today and tomorrow.  They said SNOW on Sunday!   :o

I tell ya, when we gonna get over this here El Ninya y'all sent down here!?   :'(

Good morning from chilly Cut Bank MT.  Minus 17 this morning--with a "feels like" minus 29.  No new snow over night.  Clear bright blue skies.

Still getting ready to go to Southpaws to blow ice fishing holes in his pond.  Made  a couple of linstocks yesterday.

I think the short one is going to be a bit to short for the mortar.  We'll see.

To refresh your memory this is the mortar we are going to shoot.

I was built by DOMINICK CARPENTER.  Dom is a GBO sponsor.

The powder chamber is rated for 250 grains of FFG for ball load and 700 grains for blank load.

I am going to build loads today for tomorrows shoot with a starting load of 100 grs of Cannon grade.

Ernie, the forcast for tomorrow is 30 degrees and Sunday is 40 degrees...do you want to wait until Sunday to shoot?

Okay, Saturday it is!  Need clear line of sight to the pond, nothing in between because for sure we'll hit.  Drive way is fine don't.  With the light charges i will be using we will be able to see the can all the way to target.

So what time?

Okay noonish huh. I'll be there.

I have the ammo loaded.

Some 2.6 caliber 10,800 grain wadcutters.

We'll start with 100 grains of Cannon Grade black power and work up or down from there.

9:45 PM.  22*, about 5" of snow hit the ground last night and this morning.  Started to melt on the main roads this afternoon, but that got slick again tonight.  Gonna get warm again, 50's by Sunday.  Supposed to work tomarrow, but my boss said he was gonna be in all day anyway and take the day off!  He almost broke my arm twisting it to make me, so guess I have it off.  Guess I'll hit the boat and RV show at the Metra instead, darn and I was really looking forward to another 6 day workweek. ::)  DP
