New knives in...
« on: April 03, 2008, 11:16:14 AM »
I just got my knives from Al Warren yesterday.  I had asked him if he could inlay elk ivory in the handle of caping blades.  I couldnt find an example of what I wanted so I think it's amazing that he was able to build exactly what I had in mind.  I had knives made for 7 of my hunting partners.  The ones without inlay are the guys who don't elk hunt.  We each sent in our own teeth for him to use.  He allowed us to pick our handle material but several of us liked Buckeye.  I also have ironwood and cocobola on one knife each.  Each knife is also engraved with the owners initials.

I can't recommend Al enough.  I've got no financial interest here, just passing on word about a great knife maker, stand up guy, and talented artist.

Mine up close:

Very nice knives. How long is the knife and just the blade?
Thanks

Those are really nice looking. I love buckeye with silver or steel fittings. Looks like a real handy design as well.

So where's all the pics of the elk and deer you caped? ;)

It appears that the blade is just over 3 1/2 inches and a total length of about 8 inches.

And I used the crap out of it this last season.  I've posted some pics in other sections of GB. ;)
