pig catching anyone ?
« on: March 18, 2009, 04:32:11 PM »
Hello from McBean,

Is there anyone here in GA catching pigs with dogs ? The group I used to go with has quit since the old man has passed away and I have not found anymore good guys to go with. I do not have the time to keep a pack of dogs, and would really like to find a group who need a stable, trustworthy and fearless hand to help with all the dirty work of really catching pigs. I have spent many days and nights in the swamp and miss it terribly. This is something that has been part of my life since I was a kid, but recently, I have turned down a few invitations from some guys who were not hard core hunters. They had a few dogs, a little land and a big drinking problem. Not my idea of a safe and productive time. Oh how I long for the old days when we would load up 20 experienced dogs, 5 or 6 hard core guys and go with the expectation of coming back with a ton or more of live pork. Of course, it never seems to happen as you plan, but we always had some good muddy fun. I look forward to hearing from some pig hunters here in our home state. Good Luck and God Bless You All !!

A survivor from St Paddy's day! :D  Wasn't to sure with no activity here.  Never ran hogs with dogs, but did some coon hunting back on the farm with a neighbor that always had a good coon hound.  Alot different, sorry, but your post did take me back about 43-44 years.  DP
