I'm back from Florida, to find a foot of new snow Wednesday morning. Plowed snow Wednesday, got the drive in good shape, then it started to snow again. Plowed snow Thursday, Then more snow, plowed again Friday. Began to think it wasn't going to stop. Saturday was beautiful, temp in the 20s, with lots of sun. Spending Sunday with the wife and son, then I am leaving Monday for the mountains. Taking the snow machine and going into the White Mountains for a few days.
Wish I had someone to go with me, I hate going alone, but most everyone i know works. The few retirees I know are in such bad shape physically I'm afraid they could not take the rigors of the trip.
With all the fresh snow it should be a good trip. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Oh yea, I'm taking my 30-06, not comfortable with the .223. I'm expecting the Bears to be out early this year. We had so much rain last year there was no berries. The bears stayed out two extra weeks, and went in hungry. Did not see any fat bears last fall, they were all skinny. I called two Grizzlies in last year when calling for varmints. It's no fun to have a Grizzly coming in with the idea to kill and eat something, and there I sit with a .17HMR or a .223.
Breeding season starts anytime now for Wolves, that's when they can be called. I heard many were taken this winter while I was gone, but hopefully I can find some.
