The More Complete Cannoneer... Scarcer Than Gold?
« on: March 14, 2009, 05:58:38 AM »
I see post after post about "The More Complete Cannoneer" and its predecessor "The Complete Cannoneer" saying that everyone even considering getting into the field of recreational artillery should have a copy. Just from the tid bits that have been talked about on the forum regarding its insight, it seems to be invaluable..

So my question is, WHERE THE HECK CAN I GET IT?? I've gone through all the links to sellers on this forum and all of them are sold out... Ebay, Amazon, and every other online book company has nothing. I even tried just getting a temporary copy through the university's inter library loan system and they couldnt locate it for me!

Does anyone know of anyplace that its still available from?

If I cant find anyplace I might just end up having to make a post in the classifieds section to see if maybe someone has both copies and is willing to part with one...  :-\

The author's (Matt Switlik) new revised edition is supposed to be published later in the year.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

It's best to wait for the new addition, but whenever you are looking for an out of print book the absolute best place to look, bar none  is www.abebooks.com.  They are a worldwide database of book sellers.  In the search engine put in only Switlik as the author and under key word put in cannon.   There is a book there.

Thanks guys,

I dont know how I missed the thread about the new addition, especially since its so new... But looking at that, I think I'm just going to wait it out for the release of the next addition. Wouldnt want to miss out on all the updated goodies by buying the first edition  ::)
