Thank You Seacoast Artillery
« on: March 11, 2009, 04:21:23 AM »
Just a quick note to express my thanks to Seacoast Artillery for their hospitality yesterday when they gave me a tour of their operation in Broomfield.  Gary (rocklock) was there as well.  I was able to pick their brains for three hours.  The Parrot and Brooks are very impressive in pictures, but in no way compare to seeing them up close.  I had not met these people other than on this board.  They are quality people and made me feel very comfortable.  I wish that I could make the shoot in Cut Bank this summer, but the drive from Maine puts it out of reach.  Gary brought his Dom Parrot.  I am in line with Dom for mine and now am more anxious than ever.  Thank you to Mike, Tracy and Gary for your time and patience with all my questions.
regards,
Tim

Tim and Gary thanks for visiting.  Mike and I had a great time explaining the many facets of the Broomfield Cannon Manufactory.  We also learned a lot about the State of Maine and heard some great stories about the Presque Isle area.  AND it gave us an excuse to drag out our company's 100 Pdr. Parrott Rifle and put it beside the New 7" Brooke Treble-Banded Rifle for a comparison.  We had no idea how massive the Brooke really is!  Tim, we know your family will have a great time visiting Gettysburg this summer.  Take LOTS of photos.  Thanks so much for visiting!  Gary, thanks for leaving the Confederate Parrott field piece with us.  Remember, possession is 9/10 ths of the law.   ;D ;D

Regards,

Tracy and Mike
Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!
