Can another barrel be found for the win. mod. 1400? I would like a full choke barrel.

A model 140 will interchange with the 1400.
They are the same except the 140 is a cheaper gun in terms of workmanship and wood.

If I am not mistaken a SEARS or TED WILLIAMS model 300 are the same also.

the other option is to have a gunsmith thread your barrel for choke tubes.

as i understand it, it costs less than $100 and is usually an easy quick fix.

Back when the model 1400 was being manufactured, an option was a barrel with "winchoke" choke tubes.  That option was offered in the pump model 1200 as well.  It was a new thing back then--but it became more popular when these models became the 1300 and 1500.  If you run across a winchoke equipped barrel, buy it and get tubes for the choke that you want.

As far as I know, a 1400 barrel is identical to a 1300 pump barrel except the 1400 has a gas port drilled into the barrel in the vicinity of the barrel lug. If you have a gunsmith in the area who has the specs and is capable of drilling the right size hole in the right place, it would give you a much larger choice of barrels, as 1400 barrels are hard to find, but 1300 barrels are pretty commonplace, even ones with screw in chokes(Winchoke).

wink man i have seen that done ! also have seen an extra hole put in on guns that had a hard time with light loads , one was taped so when heavy loads were used an allen screw was put in to block it off . that was a great idea .

Drags, I think this is what you're looking for, price looks like it will be pretty hard to beat too, LOL, and it has screw in chokes.
