.17 Remington Loads
« on: September 11, 2003, 11:09:27 AM »
I just got a  14'' .17 Remington barrel for my G2.  I am wanting to cook up some loads for it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Also how do you keep from mashing the *&#$% out of your fingers when you seat the bullet???

Wade ,

Thanks for the reply,  I am definitely going to start min. and work my way up.  What about the finger pinching when seating the bullet?  Do you just grin and bare it?????

i have big hands and fingers,i am not a small person.i have hornady dies and it is not a problem as long as you watch out.i have also used some tools to help like twezzers and forceps but good ole fingers are the best .

i have a 10x burris on mine and it does great.dont shoot it very much anymore.it is not a long range cartdrige because the bullet is so light.but it does make a 200yd,or less if windy, destroyer.

becareful on seasoning the barrel and do it right and it will help you in the long on fouling also try some moly be sure to get a good cleaning rod and brush and jag and lots of patches.

the first crow or blackbird you shoot at 100yds and see nothing and find nothing put a few feathers will make it all worth it.

   good luck.
