Ruger #1 Availibility
« on: March 13, 2009, 09:18:34 PM »

??? In Beautiful Australia we have been waiting on Ruger #1's to hit the shelves for over a year.
Have heard stories of the manufacturing line being upgraded, backlog still running on 2007 domestic orders, making mini 14 instead because Obama's gunna ban everything,  still waiting for the timber to be carried by donkies held up because the seas havent been parted recently....the list goes on

Anyone have the real story.            Please

regards
Sean

All things in America are now "on hold", until our new messiah heals the current financial crisis.  ;)    ::)

Actually, according to about a dozen different FFL/dealers I've spoken with over the last four months, firearms supplies are drying up in the US pipeline, too - making it very hard for most dealers to obtain new stock.
The only dealers still selling in volume are the far-sighted/wealthy ones, who filled their warehouses early on.
Most others are soliciting every store visitor as to whether they have a handgun for sale of trade - just to get sales stock.

While #1's are not exactly flying out Ruger's door, there has been an unprecidented demand for handguns and military-type rifles/carbines - both of which Ruger is probably concentrating production on (LCP pistol, Mini-14. etc).  Making hay while the sun shines, so to speak.
