Hog Abortionist
« on: February 28, 2009, 04:04:34 PM »
Ok, before you think this is some political or ethical rant, hold on...it's neither.

My wife, daughter, and I went out on a hog hunt this afternoon.  We haven't been seeing any hogs for a while, but the rancher told me today he had started seeing them again.  Anyway, the first ones we actually got a shot at were a good size sow and a shoat.  I let my wife shoot first, usually the largest in the herd, and I bat clean-up.  She was shooting her new .243 for the first time.  Anyway, she squeezed one off on the sow.  I saw the sow jump at the shot, then I tried to get the shoat as he ran off, but missed.  I swung back onto the sow as she ran off and noticed that my wife had gut-shot her.  We tried to track her, but were unsuccessful.  My wife went back to where she shot her and started yelling.  When I got to her she was standing over two fetal pigs, one of which had a bullet wound on its snout.  Long story short, she performed a pig abortion from about 75yds away!  I've never anyone shoot the babies out of a pregnant animal before!

I did a feral cat once with a .243. Kittens scattered every where. Had done it once many years ago on a possum using a .223 also.

The only way she gets that "title" permanently is whether she can do it again.

Guess you can call her "Plan C"   :o

Probably not considered flattering either.

The closest nomenclature that I can find:

Call her "Dr. Farrow"!

Farrowing - The act of a sow giving birth..
