The cheapest and simplest would be the Lee hand trimmer .

Myself , I use the Forster trimmers , picked them up used on E-bay for about 1/2 of what they cost new but they do take a bit of getting used to .

Lee doesn't make a length gage for the .204, but you can turn a 22-250 gage down in a drill, that's what I use.

Quality, there is no substitute.

A few more bucks spent now will soon be forgotten, while the pleasure and satisfaction of using a piece of quality equipment just goes on and on and  ----------

The RCBS trimmer I use, was used when I bought it, and that is probably 25 years ago.

Check out the sources for used equipment, e-bay etc.

Keep em coming!

I like the Wilson trimmer. Not sure if you'd need the standard cutter or the 17 cal cutter, but there is no pilot needed, just the case holder (a 204 Ruger holder is available).

I agree on an old RCBS trimmer;I bought mine in '83 and it still works just fine. In fact I used it just yesterday.  Kix

No.  The neck diameter is too small for us to make it.

See if you can find a "file trim die."   They are inexpensive (comparitively), easy to use, fast.

I reload only rifle casings and not a lot of them. I purchased a RCBS Trimpro about a year ago for under $100.00. Considering my number of reloads, this works REALLY good for my purposes.
