44 mag - 300g xtp - h110 - 1st groove

I'm looking for conformation on a load recommendation for  44mag 300 g xtp with h110 with the bullet seated in the first grove (long). Someone in another forum said 21 or 22g of h-110. Can anyone here confirm that's a good / safe hunting load in a FA 83?

I don't know what an FA 83 is, but as for the load, I wouldn't do that if I were you, it's gonna be too hot.  H110 with a 300gr xtp shouldn't be over about 18gr.  Keep your overall length at or under 1.6" if this is a tube magazine, if its a single shot you could  be longer.

edit:  ok I looked up FA 83(the internet is great).  you have a handgun.  that load still sounds a little hot. my manual suggests a max load of 20.1gr of H110.  If it were me I would start at 18gr and work it up looking for signs of excess pressure.

NOT a load recommendation but..... I've been loading them that way with both 21.5 and 22.5 grains of W296/H110 since shortly after Hornady came out with them. Make DAMN sure you use the lower cannelure (Longest length). I NEVER EVER have used more than 19.5 and 20.5 with the shorter length.

In both cases the higher loadings are considered by me to be absolute max and I'm shooting them in S&Ws.
