Steelers' Rooney nominated as Ireland ambassador.

I am torn here. You guys know I am a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I was not happy that Mr. Rooney openly supported the new prez during the election. I am happy for him though because he has always been a very level headed person and I have great respect for him. He will now be moving to Ireland and he says he is looking forward to the new job. President Barack Obama announced Tuesday that he is nominating Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney to be the U.S. ambassador to Ireland.
"I am honored and grateful that such a dedicated and accomplished individual has agreed to serve as the representative of the United States to the Irish people. Dan Rooney is an unwavering supporter of Irish peace, culture, and education, and I have every confidence that he and Secretary Clinton will ensure America's continued close and unique partnership with Ireland in the years ahead," Obama said in a statement.
The Associated Press reports that as part of the White House's St. Patrick's Day observances the water in the fountains on the north and south lawns has been dyed green.
Rooney, chairman of the Steelers, has been an active player in the Irish peace process since the 1970s, according to the White House. He co-founded the American Ireland Fund, which has raised more than $300 million for peace and education programs in Ireland.

The quality of a mans life is in direct proportion to his commitment to excellence.
