I have this friend...
« on: March 27, 2009, 03:11:08 PM »
...who has a Cylinder and Slide (custom carry) 40 cal. Colt Series 80.  He really isn't happy with it because it won't feed certain bullet configurations. It was designed to feed Black Talons.

Because he has other guns he can shoot, I suggested that he :

a. Contact Cylinder and Slide to see what they could do for him.  (he is the second owner of the gun)

b. Put the gun away as something special because it was a gift from a dear friend.

Is there another option?  I haven't handled the gun; the only config of 1911 that I like, or have worked on is the 45 ACP.  I can virtually do anything that needs to be done to a 45 1911.

Can the weapon be converted to 45?? OR/Are the dimensions all different because of the caliber?
Thanks for the input.....JeffG

If it was set up for the Black Talons than he should e able to shoot the Winchester SXT.
As they are the same basic design and have two points rather than the one and are copper color rather than the "evil Black"
Some say the SXT stand for "same exact thing"
I have a few boxes of black tallons still and the code for them is SXT.

I'd have him call Bill Laughridge at C&C.  I've had a few guns built by him for me and he'll actually get on the phone in the mornings if you ask.  He can make it right I'm sure.
