I want a 97 in 45 colt or more likely 44sp, possibly 4 3/4" (yes a custom length), possibly octagon, laminated wood grips, round butted, action job, normal sights. I have to get the economy to settle out some and get back to having a little money in the bank first so it might be a while....

It comes in .44 Special. You're kidding mostly yourself if you think 0.125" of case length makes that much difference. There really is little reason to not chamber it to .44 Magnun really since it is chambered to .45 Colt but I guess they can at least say that so long as you stick to SAAMI pressures you'll be safer with the .45 than a .44.

I forgot about the single shot.  Wayne is going to give me a call when they start taking orders.

I'd ideally like a 22 LR Mod 97, but here I think I may just be able to find one in Mod 83, and that's if I'm really lucky...

Have a Model 93 in both .22 and 357. Before the single shot was announced my next FA was going to be a 93 in 41 Mag with octagonal barrell for silhouette shooting. Now the single shot is first choice. I would love to know the pricing though!! Peter.

My next is going to be a Premier Grade 83 in .475 Linebaugh.  I may opt for the .480 Ruger cylinder as I do not want to load anything faster than 1000 fps.  I just want to throw a big slug at moderate velocities.

My current FA is an old Premier grade 83 in .454.  It has the tungsten carbide insert and shoots under an inch @ 25yds with a load of X3.5 296 and a 300gr hardcast boolit.  It has over 12,000 rounds through it and is as tight as the day I got it.  Don't think that I'll be able to top this one.
If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.

I'm looking for M83 Premier Grades in 475, 50AE and 44, all with 4.75" barrels.  Also have a hankering for a 97 in 22lr, a 4.25".  Micarta on all.  No luck in the aftermarket so far this year....
