bonuses verses constution
« on: March 20, 2009, 03:28:35 PM »
heres the real scoop it is illegal to single out anyone or any group for a special tax under your constution. taking the bonuses back by taxes will allow new illegal powers to be used by the government.  are you willing to sell the constution for 165 million?

I don't think so.

No, it's not right for Congress to tax 90% of anything, especially just for a smoke screen to cover up what they really did and what was really in their spending package.  If they do that, the little bit of a bonus I might get at the end of the year, which is a couple thousand bucks, will also be taxed at 90%...they already add a 10% gift tax to anything I receive in the way of bonuses, or vacation pay...so I'm getting over 40% taken now from me already...Congress did that to us already.  It's just more knee jerk reaction legislation to smoke screen what's going on, and it's more unconsitutional legislation.  Nobody likes the fact our 165 million is going there for bonuses, but the truth is the Congress wrote this mess in the first place, and we need to look at them instead of the people they want us to look at.  Heck, the head of AIG was put there by congress...Geithner had his mitts in this bonus thing and they tried to cover all that up...Dodd wrote an amendment for this crap and nobody wanted you to know that either.  Now that he has been caught he is saying they "forced" him to do it.  Yes...they want you to look at that 165 million bucks going to bonuses alright and concentrate on that.  They don't want you to see that everything they touch breaks and is full of their own corruption.  Obama signed the legislation as well...and he goes on a comedy show and says he didn't know.  They all knew.  I say stay away from breaking the constitution even if it means they follow the contracts and legislation and don't let Congress get their mits on legitimae bonuses (MINE!) all because we want somebody to roast over a fire. Let's roast Congress over a fire in 2010.  Forget the 165 million in bonuses....they are throwing billions all over the globe and there legislation is corrupt.  Congress, is so corrupt they actually sacrificed the excecutives families now...they have wives and kids and those people are being threatened by masses of people now...innocent childred sacrificed, by Congress in order to cover up their own bad deeds.  Unthinkable!

I might add, there would have been a way to not get paid bonuses....if they would have been allowed to fail,  it is perfectly fine to not pay a bonus then because there is no money, and they would have been bankrupt.  That would have suited me just fine.

LOL... You're too funny ::)

a person who makes the company a lot of money deserves a bonus however the guy who looses a ton of money causes the buisness to go belly up and wrecks the company car should not be rewarded he should be fired and as far as retaining "talent" if someone gave me a resume that listed his last employment as AIG i dont think i would hire him.

Make up your mind about what you think is right.
You can't say they don't deserve a bonus then complain when the gov't wants to take the money back.

That is the whole point. Just because we don't like the bonuses doesn't give Congress the right to take it. Maybe I only deserve to make minmum wage despite working hard and getting an education, etc. So maybe the guy working at the convenience store or whatnot should be able to right his congressman and have my taxes increased. I did have some Govt. loans and GI Bill. So maybe the Federal Government should be able to back tax me and anyone else who used the opportunity given because they didn't know people would be upset later. B.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The house of representatives...can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as the great mass of society. This has always been deemed one of the strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the people together. It creates between them that communion of interest, and sympathy of sentiments, of which few governments have furnished examples; but without which every government degenerates into tyranny.
