problem with Simmons 8x32x44
« on: September 02, 2003, 02:41:16 PM »
I bought a Simmons 8x32x44 for groundhog hunting. The problem is the scope is clear on low powers but on high powers it gets blurry and adjusting the objective doesnt clear it up enough.  What should I do with the scope?

File 13, Seriously call Simmons and see if they will fix it. If they won't fix it for free I would look into a better scope.  KN

Have you used the focus ring at the eye piece to get the basic focus?

I gave away the ONLY Simmons scope I ever owned or ever will own. Even paid the shipping myself to get it to the fellow.

My advice is to put it in the trash can next trash day. That's the only thing I feel they are useable for. I keep telling folks over and over and over to not buy those things. Folks keep on buying them and keep on coming on here with sad stories when they do.

Trash it and buy yourself a Bushnell.

Simmons and BSA products are by far the worst optical instruments a shooter/hunter can buy. PERIOD.

Even Simmons best rifle scopes are on par with the bottom end of the Bushnell line-up. And at that you will pay twice as much for the simmons.

I made the mistake of buying a Simmons 20-60 power spotting scope. I needed one for the shooting range and it was a great price from a mail order place. What a pile of complete poop. The scope is unusable on a power setting higher than 40 and is barley usable as a 100 yard spotting scope at the rifle range. The worst glass possible.

I hope you can get your money back and get a better scope.
