Feinwerkbau 300S

Hi ,
    I just picked up an old Feinwerkbau 300S. It needs work. What velocity will it be capable of when the seals and spring are replaced?

I think mine did about 575 to 600 fps with H&N match pellets. Not a lot of power, but accurate enough to put a pellet in a rabbit's brain at 20 yards. And the trejectory is flat enough for small pest birds out to at least 30 yards.

Thanks Don,
                  I bought it mainly for shooting sparrows. Its getting checked over at the moment. It was very slow , so it probably needs new spring and seals.

JON - I would chronograph it right now but I lent it to my son. Also, I shot two fox squirrels with it one day although I really don't think it has adequate power for practical squirrel hunting. I read an old article by Elmer Kieth where he talked about shooting charging Cape buffalo up their nostrils. Anyway, there was a squirrel on the bird feeder 30 feet from the patio door, I got the 300S and had a good rest. When the sqirrel turned my way I put a pellet up its nose and I was dead. A while later I did the same to another squirrel. After that I got to thinking that it would be too easy to miss just a little and maybe blind or otherwise injure one instead. So I have not shot any more squirrels with that gun. - DON

they are sub 600 fps in stock form but can be brought to the 700's with a few mods... for sparrows the stock gun will be quite fine further than ya would think. The accuracy the gun brings to the table is unreal once ya learn the trajectory.

I just got my 300 back from my son. It chronographed 570 fps with H&N match pellets which I ran through their sizer. Ones not run through the sizer only did 552 fps. That's the 3011 pellets which I think are the heavier model, but I don't know the weight.
