SAKO 270 Finnlight help!!!
« on: September 08, 2003, 10:30:45 AM »
Thinking of buying a 270 Finnlight and wanted to know if anyone knows if this is a good shooter?  I'm thinking the finnlight may not shoot as well as the 75 hunter and does the shorter (20 inch) barrell hurt on a 270 caliber?

The Finnlights generally do not shoot as well as the regular 75 models.  Now, I have seen Finnlights that can outshoot a 75, but, for the most part, the 75s outshoot the Finns.

As for the 20" barrels, I am not very fond of them, especially with longer cartridges like the .270.  I personally wouldn't shoot a barrel less than 22" inches.  If it were a short action, like a 7mm-08 or .308, then it isn't as bad because since the cartridge is shorter, it has more room to go down the barrel.
