.223 Ultralight?

Do any of you have one of the newer Ruger Hawkeye Ultralights in .223, or .243? I'm looking for any input on how they shoot, and how you all like them. Thanks for your help.

Don't know if this will help, but I see its been awhile since you posted your question.  I have a MarkII ul in .270.  It shoots fine but heats up quickly.  Its great for deer hunting, but might not be a good choice for any shooting where several shots could be fired close together.  Perhaps a.223 wouldn't heat the barrel up as fast as a 130 gr 270 bullet????

Thanks for the input. I have a .308 RL, and like it for hunting though the barrel does heat up quickly as you mentioned. The more powder you burn, and the bigger the hole is I suppose accelerate that. I'm looking at a .223 as a walking woods gun for coyotes, etc. I want to shoot the 55-64 grain bullets and like the idea of the 9" twist. For practice I would shoot cast bullets with small powder charges.
