Good question re why no 358 Win especially in the carbine version. Rem had the rifle version in 35 Whelen for a while.

I got the 760 model in 30-06 and is is a great rifle to carry or sit on a stand. My hunting range is short to very short so I use 150 gr RN's downloaded to 300 Savage levels for WT's.
What is the point of Life if you can't have fun.

When I wrote that the load is reduced to Savage 300 levels, I didn't want to scare you. ;D
My particular load is actually a very mild Savage load at that.
Using 44.4 gr of IMR 4894 with the Sierra bullet MV shows 2600 fps but that is with a 26" barrel. The Rem carbine is 18 1/2 " There has to be a least 200 or less fps in MV from that barrel.
That load also groups well with 150 gr Speer, and Hdy's
As posted above H-4895 can also be reduced to even less MV's then IMR 4895
