I had saved these same pics some time ago, because I also found both the gun and the carriage interesting. As for the gun being a Blakely, all I can say is that its possible, but don't have a clue as to how probable the truth of this guess would be. I think its safe to say that this cannon looks 'kinda sorta' similar to some other Blakely models that I've seen. If your previous reference is to the 3.5-inch Blakely Type II cannon that was stolen from Rivers Bridge State Park in Ehrhardt, South Carolina, then they are definitely not the same model.
In a way, the carriage interests me even more than the gun; its a not often seen design, and the bronze hardware might suggest that it was meant for display, or perhaps as a presentation piece.
