Good morning Montanan, dpe, Southpaw, Forster, MT_Sourdough, Atlaw, pab1, newstart2k, Skunk, kitchawan kid, lurker, CJ, Bilmac, thxmrgarand, Syncerus, Mcwoodduck, Brennemanj83, Old Shooter and TY22!!!

Well they say if you don't like the weather in Montana, wait an hour...given yesterday afternoon's pleasant weather I was hoping for a nice Saturday.  No luck.  It's snowing out, heavy wet spring snow, 30 degrees.  Good day to read a book.

I have been reading Bernard Cornwell this winter. I have made it my goal this winter to read every thing he wrote that I hadn't previously read. Just finished his Lords of the North.    It the 3rd in Cornwell's Saxon series.  I am reading Vagabond right now, 2nd in his Grail Quest series. Cornwell is best known for his Sharpe's Rifle's series.

While I was in South Africa I set out to read and reread every Wilbur Smith book he wrote,  while I was in Africa..  I made read 28 of  his 30 books while i was there. Wilbur Smith is a South African who rights adventure novel and Africa is his venue.

A good source for books is www.abebooks.com.  This is a  search engine of world wide booksellers. If you are looking for a book this is the place to look.  When you search for a book  you will get a hit list of world wide sellers listed by price.   Seldom is Amazon dot com books on the first page, they are two expensive.  I just bought 10 Bernard Cornwell books at a $1 a book.

What do you guys read?

It's 47 here now, and has been giving us a few rain showers today.  Hasn't felt bad though.  Still sounds like we may have some other weather move in tonight.  Found some 357 Max brass at the gun show with some other "stuff".  Then went to meet this other guy that cleans guns and sells some as well.  He does some smithing but not much.  What he did have was a Winchester 1200 20ga and a nice Baikal 20ga O/U.  Walked out the door with both of em for $490. 8)  DP

Good Evening Montana!

Took the family on an outing today. Was a little chilly, but we had nice, bright, clear, sunshine all day long, not to mention a beautiful orange sunset.

On the way I stop at one of my favorite gun dealers and since he had some in stock, I pick up another 4000 large rifle primers. I really wanted small rifle primers but none were to be found. Also pick up 3 more pounds of Varget and thought I would try some Benchmark, so I got a 2 pounds of that too. Just before the wife started kicking, hooting, and hollering, I also managed to squeeze in 2 of those silicon embedded Hoppes gun/fishing real rags and a can of Break Free CLP. Then she made me leave. ;)

Thanks for the link to the books Double D. Sounds like you read some good stuff.

Congrats on the new guns, dpe.ahoy!! Nice find.

What do you guys read?

I read quite a bit about the fur trade era, both fiction and nonfiction. I really enjoy Terry C Johnstons writing, especially his Carry The Wind series. I like post apocalyptic, eotwawki fiction. I also read a lot of books on traditional archery, survival/self reliance and anything I can find on handgun hunting.

Terry Johnstons books will take you there.  If you are interested in Western American history he is must read.  Right after I read Lay the Mountain Low I drove up in the Big Hole country and was taken back in time...by the way the Big Hole area is an incredibley beautiful area if you haven't been there.

Terry Johnston is always a good read.  Need to find more of his stuff, he is kind of a local here in Billings.  I read alot of everything from Sci-fi to escape to mountain man for the same and other stuff on how to do, as well as any gun related books/magazines.  DP
