:)Ah, Summertime. What do I hunt??? Well, I usually catch some trout for breakfast and some pan fish if I get to a lake or pond that has 'em. But hunting, if I go east to visit my relatives or my girl friends kids, I carry half a dozen wood chuck rifles. Start with a .22 Hornet, through maybe a .25-06. If I stay at home in the west, usually a week or ten days is spent bear hunting, also in May and June I shoot quite a few gophers with my .22 rifles and pistols. Also at this time early mornings are spent looking for coyotes killing antelope or deer fawns.
Here I usually use either a heavy .2506 or heavy .300. June though Sept. is prairie dog time. I usually don't hunt them til the pups are out. Here my .222, 223, various .22-250's get some play. Maybe the 25-06 on windy days or if I have ammo I want shot up. Some ranches require all badgers be shot, so they are on the list also. Foxes, it varies with the ranch. Rockchucks are shot if they are in a spot doing some damage. Also I shoot a few, just to keep them wary. I often use my Marlin .25-35 for this shooting. 8)This morning I was out for coyotes and missed a couple long shots, so took a shot at 2 p.dogs sitting side by side at about 250 yards. A 150 grain Balistic Tip from my .300 made and impressive hit on both
;DBut I guess this isn't summer so it doesn't count.
