Need to I.D. a .22 mag cylinder.....

I was given a .22 cylinder, now I'm trying to figure out what it belongs to, so I can find it a home. It is blued steel,six shot, UNFLUTED, and is marked .22 WMRF in about the center of the cylinder, around it's radius. It is NOT a Ruger, it is somewhat smaller in diameter. The one feature that should help ID it is the hole for the base pin is two different diameters, the front is about twice the diameter of the rear.The "star" at the back of the cylinder is quite a bit smaller then a Ruger's, and very well machined. Three numbers are well stamped on cylinder ( forget which end ), which no doubt are the last 3 digits of original serial #. All in all, it is very well made, and I'd like to have it put to use.

Sounds like it might be from the H & R mdl 666 revolver.  They came with two cylinders much like the Ruger Single Six. Since it was produced before 22 mags came out it was for 22wrf.  I have been trying to find one in 22lr.  I can tke some measurments for comparison if it will help.  It is six shot, with no flutes.  It has a small star for turning and a ridge around the star end of the cylinder along the outside diameter at the end.  Like a recess for the 22 case rims.  Might be interested in it as I cannot seem to find the 22 lr cylinder.  Don
