Decided on my next firearm. 357 lever gun
« on: May 02, 2009, 11:46:07 AM »
Ive decided my next firearm purchace will be a 357 lever gun. Im not seeing any on the used gun racks ,so I maybe buying new. Ive got a 1956 Marlin 336SC  35 remington. I really like it. But Im thinking the 357 would be better for plinking.  Any suggestions.
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting

Bought one 4or5 yrs. ago and love it,if you cant find one you could down load the 35 and use 357 bullets, not the same I know but works,or theres allways the .41 or.44 mag.
an unloaded wepon is equal to the same mass and volume as a rock.

A perfectly useless gun (to me) that I will never let go .  I bought one for cowboy shooting years ago, and don't do that anymore, but I just love that shooter.

Almost got one of those in 1894c but got the 1871 h+r buff classic instead. Maybe next time. :D

i bought one new(1894c .357) and was disapointed in the fit & finish ...the front sight was canted to the left , in my opinoin there should be no fit & finish issues in a gun that expensive....maybe i'm to picky. :(

I think you must have got a lemon Raider. I have had 3 plus a 44 and have had no issues with any of them. I bet Marlin would have fixed an obvious problem like that.

Anything made by man can have defects.  Marlin would have made it right.
