 Ok ,

I have over 1000 .311 110gr FMJ projectiles ... I'm reading in my Lee 2nd edition that they are listing a .309 diameter bullet...

Question is if anyone has tried a .311 bullet in their reloading adventures with this (7.62x25) cartridge ?

If so , how did they perform ?

     Thanks in advance ,

Default:  the proper bore diameter for the 7.62x25mm cartridge is .308.  Those .311 diameter bullets would be too large for the bore and would spike your chamber pressures, possbily dangerously so.

Graybeard's has a sponsor who is also a 7.62x25mm expert - Ron Reed develops and sells loadings in this cartridge caliber for both the Tokarev and the CZ52.  Please check with Ron before you load up any of those 311s in this cartridge.  Ron is incredibly well versed in this cartridge and has been very helpful whenever I have had questions about which 7.62x25mm loadings can and should be used in which pistol.

Ron usually has a 'flag' at the top of this forum or some of the other handgun forums, but you can also get to his site by accessing the 'links'.  HTH.

Mikey ,

Preciate the response , And yes i wouldnt load it with out confirmation of the bore diameter ... Since i dont have the ROM TT33 yet , I wasnt sure if it was a .310 or .308 ... This is why i was asking ;) ..

Well I guess the original plan of loading them into my 7.62x39 brass is the only use i have for them then, no biggie..

 Thanks again ,

I've heard of some barrels having an oversized bore, closer to .32 ACP. The simple way to tell if yours is within spec is to slug it and measure the slug with calipers or micrometer.

Have also read of sizing 60gr. .32acp pills down a couple thousanths for loading red-hot zippers!  8)
