Beautiful bright sunny morning, near clear blue sky with very thin and very scattered clouds. There is an icey white haze over the Mountain off to the west. The Snow pack in the yard is almost gone. The western edge of the yard that gets the most sun has taken on a green tinge and the iris' are starting to grow up. There were some huge over grown junipers in the back yard when we bought this house. They smelled like a cat box and took a lot of space and shaded the flower beds. Wife hated them, I hated them. The wife cut them down last fall. We can see all sorts of stuff budding up in the flower beds that were shaded and hidden by these trees. Most prominent Rhubarb!!
Suppose to get into the 60's this week so spring is really here.
Been looking at the Hunting regs. I see the 400 region has Mule deer doe B tags east of the interstate...might put in for one of those. I hunt mainly west of freeway, but who knows might spot a dumb one on the way over to see South Paw.
The wife will get her Deer A and Deer B whitetail doe tags. I'll go for my Deer A and Deer B whitetail doe and go for the Deer B Mule deer doe draw. That would gvie us 5 deer if we filled them all. The wife and I have never filled all our tags. We only took two deer last year, but three deer would give us enough vension untill the next season. We are going to have lots of company this spring so the venison will go fast.
I'm not sure what people visit for, Gophers or venision dinner. Well they are going to get lots of chili and stew this year.
