New rifle

Well I got a rifle from my uncle I wanted to know more about. It is a H&R Model 700 22 mag semi automatic. I took it apart and it looks interesting. The trigger is not a good design but it looks like a solid rifle. Has anyone ever shoot one or had any experience with one?  Thanks   Ron

I tore this rifle down and cleaned it. Disassembly was easy  but the rifle has a trigger that is a poor design in my opinion. I put a different scope and found the old base had became loose. After putting it all back together the rifle is a good shooter. It likes Winchester Super x hollow points. 50 yard groups were in the .50” range and the 100 yard groups were a bit over 1”. My scope was acting up and would not take an adjustment. In all the rifle is a good shooting rifle withy the feel of a full sized rifle. The trigger is nasty like I said. You have to be on top of it to get it to shoot good. Ron

sorry you did not get many responses to your query on your Model 700 H&R. I myself am completely in the dark about that gun. I one time posted in the Marlin section about a fine old Marlin semi-automatic full size, man sized .22 LR rimfire rifle I have and has feeding problems. I would really like to find someone with knowledge about that gun, however like you, I did not get one response about it. Congratulations on cleaning yours up and getting it to work and best of luck with that trigger....<><....
