New Handi on monday

Picked up a nice used handi with a 223 22" bull barrel and nice 3x9 tasco scope. I took it to on of my favorite strip jobs and took the chance that POI was good for me as is. Darn I hit every rock I aimed at, took maybe 15 shots from 100 yds to maybe 200yds and never missed. I wanted to get it on paper to see what it groups like but now I kind of hate to. It might not group so well and then Id be bummed. I think I will just keep shooting rocks and cans for awhile. I was using Remmy 62gr CTFBs. Great rifle

As I have said before, fun in shooting can be lost quickly if you allow yourself to get too anal. It's good to shoot worthwhile groups and load testing by all means to see what your rifle can do. I will follow my loads relentless untill I find my PET....
But everyone needs some plinking  8)
Have your fun and when you are ready put it on paper to see what you have and what loads are your favs, then go with what you have.

I am of the opionion that 2" at 100 yds is great shooting. Any more is exceptional. Keep on a rocking. The whole idea of shooting is to have fun.

Most of my shooting is "plinking", shooting should be fun and relaxing.  I shoot paper to sight in and develope loads, then dirt clods and rocks beware!  I'm serious when I shoot while hunting, but hunt for meat and to have a good time as well.  Yer a much better hunter when you plink than if you just set a bench and shoot at paper.  JMHO.  As I have said before, a 2" group means yer only 1" away from where you are aiming, and that will make meat!.  DP

Amen bro!  As a boy I could shoot those super tight one hole groups.  Now I don't have the control.  So I just have fun, .......and kill a lot of game.
