Our Grand Daughter makes her first appearance

Well while on our way home from Missoula, we get a call from our son that Nichelle is on her way.  So, I'm a good 80 miles from home and wish I was a jet.

Finally arrived, and just like all the girls in the family Nichelle is just flat out being stubburn as all get out.

Well at 10:10pm last night bouncing into this world at 5 pounds 15 oz. we got our Grand Daughter.  Now my daughter in laws mother was trying to steal her thunder but my daughter in law, sent her home. 

My daughter in law, I think likes me real good cuz outside of my son holding his daughter for the first time, my daughter in law asked that I stick around along with my wife.  She sent everyone else home.

Well when the time was right, my son came out and got my wife and I both.  When I walked into the room my daughter in law puts this little bundle of joy in my arms first.

Congrats, one fine looking young lady.  They are a joy and a curse, all at the same time.
30 degress here and the rain continues.I want to go shoot this weekend, but we will see.

Very nice Montanan. Congratulations to you and your family. Your new granddaughter is a living doll. I know how you feel too. I received my first granddaughter in January of this year. Makes a man mighty proud.

Congratulations Jon.  I'm still waiting for my first Grandchild, but the youngest is 4 so still remember that special feeling holding him for the first time.  She's a beauty, think she'll like older men?  My boy would only be 4 years older than her.   Been raining and snowing all day, but nothing sticking to the ground, YET.  DP

Congratulations to ya Jon.  Thats a mighty fine way to usher in the spring season I think.  You should be very proud.   

Today, I went to the ax man and bought a new brick of 22 lr ammo. I also bought one box(50rds) of cci 22 bullets as a gopher specific selection.  Bought some more targets because we seem to be using a lot of paper.  Then the kids got out of school early today, so we all loaded up in the car and took off to the Beavertail area to shoot.  On the way back, we saw about 50 head of elk about a mile from the Rock Creek Lodge.  Some bulls are already growing some decent antlers.  We got a good pic of some rams in East Missoula again.  We also saw a couple hundred Mule deer and countless whitetails.
 
The pic is with a cell phone once again, sorry.  The biggest ram was the one on the left, but he never got his face in the picture.  The elk pics never really came out well.  Too far.
