9mm or 40s&w

I am thinking about buying a Hi Point pistol.
Most of the time it will be in my glove box for protection.
I will do a lot of plinking with it also.
Witch one is nicest to shoot?
Will the 40 fit in the upper glove box of my 2008 Silverado?

Wellll, I dont own a  chevy but my .40 fits in my olds aurora center console and the door pocket in my buick rendevous. the 9mm will have less recoil but the .40 spits a bigger payload. I'd be content with either with the right load. ;)

I know the 40 has more power but it's a bigger heavier gun too. Right?
Has anybody shot both?

I wold like the power for defense/hunting but it's main use will be plinking.

Yup, bigger, heavier, ugly as sin. my wife shoots the 9mm. and she uses it to punch paper and the wayward varmit once in awhile. I'd probably go with the 9mm. for what you're needing. :)

  For what you'll be using it for I'd go with the C9 9mm pistol.  With the right load ( a good hollow point) it will make an excellent personal defense weapon and 9mm target ammo is much cheaper than the 40 caliber for plinking/target shooting.  Regardless of which caliber you get,  you'll be amazed at how accurate and reliable Hi Point pistols are.  You won't be sorry you bought it.  ;D

I can't help you there. I live in CO. and bought all my Hi-points at Big R. Sorry, maybe a Big R or Sportsmans Warehouse in your neck of the woods??

Ask a local gun shop in your area if they can order A Hi Point for you.  If not,  go to gunbroker.com to buy one and have it shipped to an FFL in your area.

I have both. For my larger hands I like the 40. Also I like the fact that the mags easily interchange between it and the 4095 carbine. I also like the bigger round and the 10 rd magazine

Those are usually the most honest helpful gun shops. 
For what a FFL costs these days and the hoops that have to be jumped through, it can't be that shady.

I live in OK, but way down south, so probably not going to be much help.

Do a dealer search for Hi Point. I know there are a number listed for Oklahoma.

The nearest to me is in Duncan, I think the guns may be hard to find at the present.

I bought a 40 carbine from them a couple of years ago and on Monday they told me they couldn't get any carbines.

As far as the dealer out in the country, check them out, quite often they will have as good or better prices as someone who has a store.

Partsman, I use to do a few gun shows in OK. Basically, Ok. City, and Tulsa. Don't know where your located, or how far your from either of them, but I could look in one of my gun show calander books, and find out when one of the next shows there are. gypsyman
