Marlin XS7C 243
« on: January 17, 2010, 01:30:58 PM »
Bought one Friday, came home mounted scope, bore sighted and went to range. Normally I clean a new rifle before I shoot it the first time. But this time, it was getting late and I wanted to try it that day. Shot 3 times getting it close @ 100 yds, then made a 3 shot group -.5", could not hardly the accuracy out of the box. After shooting 6 times came home and cleaned it. Didn't get to shoot it anymore this weekend, but will shoot next weekend.

I bought a XS7 after Christmas from Academy Sports for $259 + tax.  I mounted a Burris FFII on it, but have yet to shoot it. Mine is a .308.

i THINK THERE IS A LAW THAT YOU HAVE TO SHOOT A NEW RIFLE IMEDIATELY OR TURN IT OVER TO SOMEONE THAT WILL!  ::) If there aint there ought to be! ;D  He said waiting for a range report!

Well, I would have to be able to see day light to shoot it. The only days I have had off lately to where I could shoot it was on Mon or Tues, and the closest range to me is closed on those days. Once we are done with the inspection at work, and I switch to a different shift, I'll be glad to past a range report. Right now, I am in the middle of a 13 day stint with one day off.

I just bought one 2 weeks ago... Went and put my old Nikon 6-18 on it....

Took it out to the range and shot the target 5 times to get it sighted in.

1st shot was 2ft to the left. Second shot was 1" high and 1" to the left.

Redialed it for 2" high and fired 3 shots.  Shots measured .5 at 100 yards.

Took it home and put it back in the safe...

Now if I can just get some time to shoot some coyotes with it..
