Garage Sale Ammo find for my Handi/44
« on: April 19, 2009, 02:48:55 PM »
I stopped by a garage sale yesterday,on the fly so to speak. Expecting the usual household items.

And there on a table was four boxes of Remington 44 mag. 240 gr. JHSP's. They were marked $10.00 @.
I almost broke my Arm getting my money out of my jean pocket.

I have been looking for 44 mag brass for several Months now, as I only have about 50-75 cases for reloading.
No one has 44 mag. brass in stock for sale. I have the Nosler bullets, powder, & primers but no brass.

But I do now !

The Handi/44, Rossi 92/44 and the Ruger Super Blackhawk will be well fed this Summer. ;)

Congratulations on the great ammo find buddy.  If I am lucky enough to find ammo it's usually only shotgun ammo. I love those garage/yard sales that turn up something for me as well as my wife. My best garage sale find (for me) was a S&W .41 Magnum revolver!!! She was selling off her departed husbands "stuff" and she told me she had found it in her husbands hobby room. It was a fine custom revolver that had had a action job done by the S&W custom shop. Luckily, or strangely, it was unique enough that I was able to locate 2 of it's early owners before her departed husband owned it, one of which had sold it to her husband. There were 4 owners before I saw it on the table at the yard sale, and I had known 2 of them! Also, I had met the third owners wife, the older woman who was selling the gun. It was originally ordered and sent to a Border Patrol officer in Texas about 35 years ago (when we had borders and were not part of the liberal "global community"....<><....:)
