shooting low
« on: June 11, 2009, 02:59:57 AM »
I have an older 20ga, 26" mod barrel. It patterns pretty much center with shot, but low and left (25 yards) with Win and Rem foster slugs. Any ideas?

Put adjustable sights on it or bend the barrel, read the entire thread.  ;)

45/70--sure it's do-able. I've had success doing both BP tradeguns and modern shotguns barrels. Even done a couple of .22 barrels. Works fine. Just take it slow and a little at at time. woodsrunner

It may be as simple as keeping your head down while shooting. Trying to "peek" to see if your shot hit the target will cause you to shoot low.

I've installed small sights with epoxy. Just make sure they are close to zero when you glue them down. I tape them on and draw reference lines around them, and fire a shot. If they hit pretty close to where I want, I glue them in the lines.
