30/30 bbl with Lyman scope

       Bought a 30/30 bbl marked as Handi Rifle SB2 today at a gun show for 110 in excellent condition. Locks up well to one of my frames.
 It came with scope mounted on weaver mount & weaver rings. It is a Lyman 3-9V in good shape, optics clear & duplex crosshairs, my
 question since I have heard little about them is it any good or should I get rid of it and put on something else? Also I have a question
 that where can I get dovetail slot fillers & filler screws for front sites? Can't wait to shoot this bbl as I wanted one for a while. Thanks

Marbles makes a dovetail blank, filler screws depends on whether they're 6-48 or 3-48, 6-48 are common, 3-48 may not be so easy to find, H&R may be the best source, toll free (866) 776-9292.

Lyman scopes are exelent scopes, well made and rugged.
The Weaver mounts and rings should be no trouble as long as they are well mounted.

That Lyman scope in good optics condition is as good as any current Leupold. They are better then the old steel Weaver scopes that everyone loved in clarity as well as lighter weight.
