SB1 .243 OK?
« on: April 27, 2009, 07:47:13 AM »
I did search but couldn't find anything. Would it be ok to shoot a .243 barrel on a sb1 frame? My dad's girlfriend's kid wants to go deer hunting. My dad bought him a sb1 .22/410 combo last year and i have a old sb2 .243. Now i've put my barrel on it before and it fits and locks up good and tight but will the reciever handle the pressure? thanks.

NO

If you want to make the .243 good for the child to shoot, just swap out the stocks for his youth set.  You should never stick a rifle barrel on the SB1.

If you like your dad's girlfriend's kid at all... DON'T DO IT.

This is under the FAQ's (frequently asked questions). A brief search using control F will let you search for whatever your looking for.  In this case I typed in "SB1".
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

The SB1 and SB2 receivers look very simular in appearance. These receivers and barrels get removed, traded, sold, etc.. You would think the gun manufacturer from the very beginning would of made one small machineing step to either the SB1 receiver or the SB2 high pressure barrel so they would not fit or fully close.
