I was given a pair Nikon Prostaff scopes One straight 4 power and on 2-7 varible. I know these are lower end scopes. Any comments on these units?

I've owned a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 for a few years and it's sat on top of slug guns, muzzleloaders and a .44 mag handi and it always worked great.  Tough, clear optics and a decent amount of eye relief.

The 4x is really a rimfire scope but the 2-7x32 should serve you well on a rifle, muzzleloader or shotgun.

I have the Shotgun version Pro Staff 2-7 X 32 mounted on a Marlin Guide Gun 45-70. I regularly shoot Buffalo Bore and other max loads and it has never failed me yet. I've shot around 50 or 60 of the heavy loads so far. It will be my go to gun for this years Grizzly hunt.

IMO the Prostaff is a fine scope.  Full lifetime warranty.  Clear and bright even on the edges.

If you don't want them, I'd be glad to have them.

I have 2 Prostaff 2x7's.  One is on a Savage M11 7mm-08, the other is in a box, waiting for me to buy it a new rifle :)!!

Great scopes for the money, I recommend them to anyone.

I have the 3-9 x 40 Prostaf, I noticed the reticle is very sharp and fine.

I have a 3x9 on a 22 Hornet and another 3x7 on a 17 HMR. I previously had a 4x on a 22. I think that the prostaff is the best value in scopes today. The quality far surpasses the price and I have never had one give me any problems. They are not the best scope on the market but they are the best in the price range.
