Good morning Montanan, MT_Sourdough, dpe, Southpaw, Forster, Atlaw, pab1, newstart2k, Skunk, kitchawan kid, lurker, CJ, Bilmac, thxmrgarand, Syncerus, Mcwoodduck, Brennemanj83, Old Shooter,TY22, Canon6, burntmuch, Grimjim, CJ, Bilmac, rparsons934 wis_sharpshooter and BBF.

Four more inches of snow this morning, currently 28 degrees and still snowing.    The forecast calls for 49 and sunnny on Friday and 54 in Saturday...oh boy will those be gopher shooting days.  The Gophers will be popping out on top of the snow. Their brown little bodies will  have good contrast on the white background...hits will be obvious.  We only get this kind of gopher shooting condition once or rarely twice a year.

A few years back , a late may snow storm .  17 Ackley Hornet , 20 grain V max . 30 to 100 yard ranges .

Trying to stay"cool ",This one lost it's head   It's in the top of picture. The 17 AH does pack a mean punch.

A family portrait ....  :-\ Not nice to remove a nursing mother , note the breasts .

Good Morning Montana!

Nice Sunny Sky and temps in the 50s today in NE Wisconsin. I'll bet that Snow in Montana today is going to be in Wisconsin by the end of the week though. :'(

Have a great day!

Howdy everybody :)
Yesterday I recieved visual evidence that the winter elk herds are finally splintering around here. I saw some smaller herds just below the snowline yesterday.  Cows are looking very fat as they get ready to calve in a few weeks.
Grasses are starting to turn green up to about 5,000-5,500 feet or so in the hills around Missoula.  The snow falling today will be gone before next week.
That wolf that killed a dog in the South Hills turns out to be just a coyote.
My girlfriend's oldest son completed his hunter's safety last night.  He is gonna need to shoot a lot between now and antelope season, especially if he is gonna take an antelope with the 30-30.   I am hoping to get an antelope with my 444. ;D
Gotta git'me a bigger ice box

That's a great way to spend this summer, camping and shooting.  Best way to get ready for hunting season.  Gotta find me a nice gopher field and a prarie poodle town to play in.  Got a small one up close to my land, but it's right by the road and hit pretty heavy.  Rain off and on today in Billings, still need more moisture for the year.  Hey Richard, crawl outta that hot tub and come post.  DP
