Yup, that's about the going price for a new one, Bud's prices are delivered plus the FFL fee on your end.

wayne24, here the 45/70 new in the box wood 229.00, black stock 249.00, there was two used ones like new for 179.00 on the price tag, I think this time of the year you could buy a nice used one for around 150.00-160.00 cash deal, I bought a near mint 25-06 from this shop for 155.00 last month, so there are deals out there on handi-rifles if you can just look around and wait on a deal.

ro, you sound like you're in an area where you can shop.  Many of us don't have that opportunity.  The closest gun shop here is 20 miles away, and he's new, just starting out with little inventory.  The next is 75 miles away, and the rest are all 2 - 4 hours driving.  If I could buy Handis for the prices you're talking about, I'd buy every one I found and either keep it, sell it or part it out and sell it.

petemi, The town here where I live has two sporting goods stores which only sells new guns, there are three shops which sell new and used and pawn used guns, thats where I find the best deals on used handi-rifles, the pawn shop I deal the most with will loan only 50.00 on a handi-rifle maybe 75.00 if has a good scope, so if he sells a nice handi for 150.00-175.00 he makes 100.00 or more on it, after deer season closes here alot of guys need money and sell or pawn their guns, I have seen lots of guys pawn nice rifles for 100.00 and never come back to pay the pawn off, I guess its right what they say Mississippi is a poor state.
