Happy May Day
« on: May 01, 2009, 05:25:11 AM »
Mornin' everybody.  It is an absolutely beautiful morning here.  Sun is shinning and warming things up nicely.  I am hoping to get a scouting trip/hike in with my girlfriend today.  Gonna peek in on some elk.
Hey, DD, those are some excellent picss of grandaughter yesterday.  I couldn't help but imagine her telling those stories to her classmates and getting crinkled-up noses and bewilderment in response.  Really cool.  It would be good for the future of national politics if every young person in this country  had a grandpa and grandma in Montana. :D
I should be able to get my first gopher of the season this weekend as the receding snow and warm weather means gophers popping up on public lands.
Lat night I did my first Checkpoint Orange.  It is a bike ride with a big group of friends in the Rattlesanke area.  We ride bikes and drink lots of beer (we pack it in and pack it out) and laugh and play around.  Lots of fun, but it did kick my butt last night.  I need to lose my winter hibernation pounds.  It is really the only time I drink anymore, but I do it for the commraderie, fun and the excercise.
You all enjjoy this supremely beautiful Montana Day.

Gotta git'me a bigger ice box

Currently 32 degrees  under clear blue skies and no wind.  Supposed to get into the 50's today.   Moisture is going in my ground. Yippee.

Grand daughter is in the dumps this morning.  Yesterday was Cheerleader tryouts and this morning the results were posted on the schools website and she didn't make the cut. I know this because daughter called us this morning at 6 AM.  I know what to get the daughter for a christmas...a watch!! One that says "This is the time in  Illinois, This the Time in Montana!''

6 AM, I am retired and can only think of one reason to be awake at that ungodly hour...to go Hunting!!!  Wife talked to daughter when the daughter called and was whispering to me what was going on.  I told the wife to tell daughter..."She's the mother, deal with it!'  But wife wouldn't pass my words of wisdom. Oh well this will pass.

I don't  know what I amm doing today, I'll tell you what I did, tomorrow.

Good Morning Montana and everyone else, I'm late but still kicking. When I lived in Hawaii , We would get calls in the middle of the night from the central time zone. 5 hour spread there!

Evenin' guys.  Weather was mostly nice today after some pretty thick frost this morning and a few rain showers during the afternoon.  Going to try to get an overnighter done tomarrow with one of my blackpowder clubs.  As crowded as my house is right now, throwing up a canvas tent, burnin' some blackpowder  and lyin' to some friends is a good way to relax.  DP
