The calm, mature response to swine flu
« on: April 30, 2009, 04:52:59 PM »
AAAAAGH! We're gonna die!
(wave hands in air and run in blind panic)

Let's just keep listening to Joe Biden as he tells us all to avoid everything and everyplace and everyone.

Now Questor, the whitehouse spinperson said that he meant to say, if you are sick don't get on a plane or subway! now you know joe would not say something as stupid as don't get on a plane or subway he was just misunderstood!

Yes, I can see your point. The following direct quote from Biden is very ambiguous:

"I would tell members of my family — and I have — that I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now," he said. "It's not just going into Mexico. If you're any place in a confined aircraft and one person sneezes, it goes all the way through the aircraft."

In other words, it's official: we're gonna die! we're gonna die! AGGGHHHH!!!

People can be contagious for a day before they show any symptoms. That's how the 1918 flu snuck through the quarantine lines.

Also maybe letters. ("Oops, I put your bill in the oven to kill any viruses in it and accidentally burned it up.")

Remember the new administration's mantra is never let a good crisis go to waste. Now their buddies in the media have decided to help out by creating a crisis out of thin air where none exists.

AHSA  Alabama HighSchool Sports Association has cancelled all sporting events in the state!  We now have parents of my little league guys pitching a fit because we aren't canceling little league.  Their logic "If it isn't safe for the high school kids to play why does my baby have to"  OMG The sky is falling chicken little!

if you want to avoid a speeding ticket...have a box of that flu medicine on your front seat with a mask.  When you hand him your license, sneeze, cough, and appologize and hand him the mask after your license.  He might let you go.... ;D

Isn't this a lesson in irony??  Before the presidential elections, some people said we would have a black president when pigs fly....100 days into the administration, we have swine flu...LOL

No disrespect intended.............. :)

Remember the new administration's mantra is never let a good crisis go to waste. Now their buddies in the media have decided to help out by creating a crisis out of thin air where none exists.

Great observation! I couldn't agree more!
Let's analyze some of the "so called" facts that the media is running with.

1. "150 people have died from the swine flu in Mexico so far."
Fact: The flu kills about 35,000 people worldwide every year. According to
a survey in 2006 the population of Mexico was a little over 107,000,000.
Let's see, 150 out of 107,000,000. ::) Hardly seems worth getting all
panicky over this small of a number. Let's face the facts here. Mexico
is a 3rd world country. It has nowhere near the quality of healthcare
that we enjoy here in the U.S. If a poor person in Mexico wants to go
to a doctor for some decent care and they don't show money up front
then they tell the sick person to get lost. This coupled with the fact that
it is very likely that people living in the poor parts of Mexico are not as
healthy as they could be due to many factors such as diet, hygiene,
and the cleanliness of their immediate surroundings. This could be
attributed to many of the deaths, but the media won't tell you that.

2. The media and Barrak's goons are making it look like that once
you get this swine flu you are a gonner! Your dead! No hope for
you! Your toast!
Come on! We're talking the flu here! It's not the Ebola Virus,
smallpox, or the plague! For the vast majority of us if we catch
this virus we will get sick and feel miserable for a while, but
eventually we will get over it. I don't know about you, but I have
had the flu before that has lasted for 3 weeks or more. That's the
way it goes! Big deal!

Something stinks about this whole thing. I'm concerned that these
rats are trying to get everyone they can focused on some made up
crisis like this one while they screw us over with some rediculious
legislation or something worse. You can bet anything when this
so called "crisis" is over good old Barrak will be standing up infront
of the nation taking all the credit for saving us all from ourselves.

Now the administration and the Dumbycrat Congress has to figure out a plan to use this flu scare to rationalize a plan for a national health plan.  If they could also tie it some way to gun control and raising taxes, they'd have the perfect plan.
