I recall folks celebrating their 50th getting a congratulatory letter from Ronald Reagan.  I won't go there about the current situation, but I will drink a toast to you and the mrs.!

As I said earlier, there have been some hard times, it hasn’t been easy.  We learned early on that many marriages fail over arguments about money, we tried to avoid such conflicts.  After raising the kids she went back to work, she had her own checking and savings accounts, I had mine, we agreed on what bills each took care of.  We always tried to find time for each other; we made an effort to have our private time together with no interruptions, and allowed each other personal private time.  Oh we fought like cats and dogs on occasion, we talked our problems out and tried to never go to bed while mad at each other,

I think first and foremost it is important to respect each other and support each other in every way possible, and of course a little prayer goes a long way to help too.

My wife and I have 39 years together and have water and oil differences in personalities in some ways.  We are both stubborn too, but when things seem like they can't be solved we embrace and pray together.  God takes the stubborn out and blesses us.  God bless you and your wife.

Don't do as a friend of mine just did at 67 and decided he wanted a divorce.
Too be honest, both have got to make up their minds that they are going to stay together. Hard too do if there is abuse or infidelity.

Let me tell you guys just how wonderful she is, on our first adversity she gave me a Marlin 39A, I still treasure it, it doesn’t get shot much, but someday will go to one of my grandsons.

Times were awful hard in those days, I was an E-4 in the Air Force, and my take home pay was $78. A month, she got an allotment for $146. each month.  She had a job, but didn’t make much so she had to scrimp and save to buy the gun.  I felt like a heel, I gave her a box of candy and a single red rose.  She has always been a jewelry freak, I make jewelry so I provide her with lots of things (in addition to what she buys), she doesn’t say a word when I buy a gun, scope, reloading supplies, or leave her home while I go off for a couple of weeks of hunting.

We have our times, but I don’t think I want to trade her………….
