Truthfully, as a teenager I never thought I'd live thirty years, But Monday I got a peice of paper from Vice Admiral Fergison Chief of Naval Personnel, In short it thanked me for sticking around and retired me from service, If you had told me that was gonna happen thirty years ago I would have laughed at you. Today, I feel pretty good about it.

I think I know what a lot of you are going to say and I'll responed to you ahead of time, Your Welcome it was my pleasure. Bob

Congrats! I like to have fun joking amongst the different branches, but I could never have been in the navy. I have no sea legs and barely survive in little waves on a lake. I really mean it when I say thanks.

From one who was fortunate enough to not have to serve let me add my personal thank you for doing your part in keeping myself and the rest of our great country safe.

Was glad I didn't have to go on my senior trip after all !!!
I'm had my bags packed but I guess they lost my ticket or didn't need any more farm boys.
They dropped the draft just weeks before I was to sign.
I received a nice letter from selective service stating I did not have to comply with the contents of my notice, which arrived about three or four weeks after my appear date on the draft notice.
