After the three month run on higher prices...it seems he is sitting on a ton of inventory. He had his gun rep in and quietly looking at scope stuff within earshot, they are somewhat worried about the slowdown. I listened a good while and then moved around to the AR15 stuff (around fifty upper and seventy lowers, tons of rails, stocks, etc....). Wow, he is sitting on tons of uppers and lowers way overpriced. There aren't alot of people to support these prices up here in VT. The rep stated there is going to be a slow down and he is starting to see it in smaller shops. I heard the owner say he had $71K in receivables from last month. Highest he ever had and stated it will never be higher.

I was in a local gun shop last week. They had more than 20 AR type firearms on the wall. The prices may have been $100.00 more than before the new prez. The guy behind the counter said they are not selling like you think they would. I also keep hearing about reloading supplies. My local Walmart has thousands and thousands of primers in stock. Big and small. Their cases are also full of ammo. The only place I see a shortage of ammo and reloading supplies is on the internet. Dale

My friend who owns a local shop can't keep guns of any type, ARs and AKs are very hot, on a visit to his shop a while back I witnessed two individuals bidding on an AR, it have been on the rack for $875. one guy decided to buy it the other said I'll give you $900, it went on like that for a while. I was really proud of my friend when he turned to the first guy and told him "since you spoke up first you have bought the gun for $875."

As for reloading supplies, there AIN'T none in West Texas.

I traveled to several stores today in search of small pistol primers, there were none. I have been to most every city (rut in the road for you big city guys) within a 150 mile driving range of my home and experienced the same thing every place I stopped. Another friend and Lodge Brother who owns a gun shop told me he has had primers on order for six weeks and can't get them. Take a look at what people are paying for primers on the auction sites, last year I paid $15.50 for a thousand small pistol primers, I just seem the same primers sell on Gunbrokers for $92.00. I think some people may be hoarding to sell at the high prices. Also take a look at the ARs on these sites, if the shops there have them and can't sell locally they should list on the web.

Sounds like I need to scrape up some money and go buy my local Wally world out of primers. I am not kidding when I say they have 10'S of thousand's of them!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you were me would you do it and turn a profit? Dale

Never saw a walmart with reloading supplies. Mine doesn't carry them and lots of ammo is out of stock. POWDERMAN.

Ours just started carrying reloading supplies maybe 6 months ago. Maybe a little less. Their brand is RCBS. They even carry powder. Dale

Around my neck of the woods I have guys asking me for primers. I could make a fortune on primers right now.

We still are seeing no AR type guns here. Ammo is in short supply, as is primers. Nothing has changed up here.

My hunting partner told me last month that he expects when supply reaches normal again, that the demand will drop to near zero. People have enough ammo to last for years already. That will drive some of the ammo manufacturers into near bankruptcy, or out of business.

I've never seen a Wal-Mart with reloading supplies either in fact around here none even sell guns. I did notice the other day when we were there that they had some shotgun shells but mostly only 12 gauge and some rimfire ammo. Their centerfire ammo supply was very short. I likely have more than them in most chamberings.

I've not been to a gunstore this entire year. It's been tough on this old fart as this time last year I'd probably already bought a half dozen or more. I have no clue what the stock situation is in them as I've been successfully avoiding going in to be tempted. I have plenty of all I need anyway so can wait it out really.

Jonesboro & Paragould AR Walmart stores (stores in my area) carry reloading supplies.

Local Walmart store around here doesn't carry any reloading supplies. And been out of ammo for quite some time.
Hoping my distributer will get primers and powders before the end of the month. Been telling my customers, if you absolutley have to have them, go ahead and pay the $50-$60 a thousand. But I know what will happen. Things will loosen up, and they'll be $30-$35/1000 before to long.
Dale, if your not in the business, go ahead and make some money. I just couldn't look my customers in the eye if I tried to gouge them. gypsyman

I think a trip to pa is in order. Not to buy and gouge others, but to stock up myself. Where is this walmart? Mine here sure does not carrying relaoding supplies.

Everything is still in short supply all around central Texas. Pistol ammo is so hard to come by it's ridiculous.

I still contend that these high prices will grind buying down to almost zero. When supplies return to normal; then prices will go down. We just have wait out the panic stricken naive people that will pay whatever to have something in their closet.

Right now I spend a lot of time working on my sight picture and trigger control using snap caps. Patience is all I can say.

We have next to no Ammo avaliable in the New Orleaqns area and no primers at all. You sure are lucky Dale.

Three reasons for the large supply up here:

1) No one has a job up here/ or they are broke
2) the prices are way to high for anyone with a job to afford the increased prices
3) folks bought a good deal of everything in Jan - March and now have a decent supply or maxed out Credit cards

I am waiting until about mid July before a serious sale in on hand up here.

I was in Spartanburg SC last week and they hand some ammo, but it surprised me to see 7.62x39 100packs for $29.

Well guys there goes that idea. I went by Walmart today and all they have left is shotgun primers. I am not kidding when I say I was in there not to long ago and they had plenty. I was really going to try to help you guys out to. I would not have gouged you but I would have made a few dollars a box on them. I must of been there right after the got their last shipment. All our local Walmarts have quit selling guns, have only limited ammo, and have never sold reloading supplies. The local store only had some 7mag. centerfire, and it was at $42.00 a box for the green box Rem. They had 3 boxes, (not bricks) of rimfire. Might of had 5 cases of shotshells total.

We now only have 1 local gun shop, two have gone belly up in the last year. He does not, and will not stock powder and supplies. Doesn't want to buy the safe to keep it in the local fire marshall requires. Has only pellets in black subs., no loose.

I was in a large chain about 50 mi. away in Alabama. They sell handguns, but had no ammo. (I was looking for .357) A store in Col's, Ga. that stocks reloading supplies has less than I do of everything but powder. His new .357 brass in 100 ct. bags was more than I could have bought loaded ammo for a year ago.......I've got enough now for the long haul. I'll just wait and see........

Was about to send ya a 100 c note and have you hook me up with 3000 or so and cover you and the shipping .... Hmmmmm ol' well

I know my local wally world has been slap out and we found out why ... Guy went in after my younger brother shot me a call telling me wal mart was loaded with a big shipment ( think he bought up a few boxes of 45 and a few more of 40) when he went in there next ( couple hours later) there was a guy with a cart damn near full to the top with ammo ( think he said mostly 9mm)...

The wally guys have now put a 6 box limit per visit , Suspicions are that local shops that dont have wal marts buying power are buying all the stuff they cant get their hands on and resaling it in their own stores ..That being on top of the other people so inclined to hoard what they can.

  Scariest and most rediculous thing i saw yet was in a local shop ( one that isnt known for being the cheapest on anything in town) got in 3 boxes of UMC 250 round packs of 380 , nothing special mind you just regular old 95 grain FMJ ... They Wanted $200 a box of 250 cnt.

   Now that is just a little sad... Sad'er yet there was only one box left of the 3 they had at that price.

   Anyone that knows of a large quanity and wants to make a little extra for helping a gunnie out ... Drop me a line.. Could always use small pistol primers and i wouldnt pass on some more small rifle , Still pretty good on large R and P primers. I'm sure im not the only one that would take you up on that offer either

It must have been a long time ago you were there. No supplers even have any so there have not been any shipments in a while. So much for my trip to pennsylvania.

I really don't think it was more than a month ago. I could be wrong though. There have been times I have said to my wife do you remember a couple weeks ago. Then she says that was 1 1/2 months ago.

They were loaded last time I looked there for sure though. Dale

according to my local shop guy a little while ago, he was told thwt suppliers will e getting stock in th enext couple weeks So thngs will slowly start trickling out but expect steep prices.

if everybody would quit buying up everything that makes it to the shelf the stock would start building back up and then the market can stabilize again. ofcourse everyone needs to stop buying in order for it to work. I don't expect it to work since no one ever wants to listen to someone else.

Been to seven gunshops around my area and there are no and I mean NONE Primers. Very little powder and most for the not so popular loads of the the not so popular calibers. I know some could be used in the .30 Cals and .223 but not real well. No Bullets of military are hunting in the calibers I want.

Really shocked to look on the Powder Vallry Website and see the banner stateing that they were 50 million primers on backorder....Jesus.

However, if and when it opens up I will be buying and loading like a mad man and I will have a very nice stockpile that should last as long as I do.

Last time I loaded was 1982 I loaded thousands of rounds for many different weapons I own both rifle and pistol I was an avid hunter and loved to shoot as the whittington center is just a short drive from home I spent many a day with friends and family shooting and practising. Teaching several of my kids and wife to shoot. I have not shot it all but I am getting to the bottom and really did need to load up again. This Obama has made the need even more urgent and I intend to get on with it as soon as I can.
